Consistent Mysterious Logo

Penta Logo by Nikita Tselovalnikov, 9rox

Penta’s logo is a strange collage of 19th century etchings of prehistoric bird mixed with a drawing of a ship and insect legs I have made for my thesis project in college. Combined with a custom geometric logotype, this signature have been successfully applied across variety of media with bold impact.

Give me Five! album design

Penta Give Me Five! Album Cover by Nikita Tselovalnikov, 9rox
The fifth album by Penta, “Give Me Five!” has a distinct dark electronica, artsy leitmotif going throughout its duration and presented a good opportunity to have an experimental, typographic design. I am not huge on Photoshop effects, so the whole set was constructed out of translucent papers with the use of shadows and light. CMYK colors were used to have typography appear crisp on a four-color press.

The posters’ designs were derived directly from the CD cover and varied in color, composition, and photography.

All Shots Double album branding

ll Shots Double’ is Penta’s sixth album that features an eclectic sampling of experimental night-time trance music and morning tunes, in a signature Penta style. The idea for the look and feel came to me after visiting a museum of old games machines in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf.

The albums’ logo was developed from the shapes inspired by the museum and has a marionettes feel to it. More abstract shapes were used for the names of the tracks and supporting visual language.
